Any information we receive from you will be used only to answer your queries and/or perform your requested editing/writing services. We do not send out unsolicited marketing material and we do not provide lists of our clients to other organizations.

More specifically, we will have access to four types of information from you. It will be information that

This information is protected by our secure server and, for many clients, will be limited to your name and email address. This information will be mandatory for customers who require a tax invoice.

Editgold guarantees not to sell, trade, rent or otherwise provide any of your personal information to any third party, except as noted here to provide the services you require.

Editgold may disclose account information when reuired by law or when, in good faith, we need to protect the rights, property or safety of editgold, its clients or others.

2. is necessary to process your credit card payment

Credit card information is among the most sensitive and important data that editgold collects.

Editgold entrusts WorldPay with its internet payment account. The WorldPay payment system ensures the security and integrity of all sensitive data. Editgold and its clients can be assured that nobody can impersonateWorldPay to obtain confidential information.

The transfer of the purchase details from editgolds site to Worldpay is encapsulated using WorldPays encrypted and digitally-signed protocol. This ensures that the information passed is secure and tamper proof.

Clients are also protected from fraudulent use of their card in a card not present environment by their card issuers. The card issuers provide the right for clients to dispute a transaction if the services were not delivered or if the card was used fraudulently.

Editgold reserves the right to pass on any information relating to suspected fraudulent activity to the appropriate authorities.

3. is contained in the written material you submit to editgold.

Naturally we share the information contained in your document to be edited with our proofreaders and editors. We also share your briefing notes with our writers. However, all our proofreaders, editors and writers have signed confidentiality agreements and will not disclose the content or purpose of any work entrusted to editgold. Nor will they plagiarise any or your work.

To protect your privacy and security, our login and password system verifies your identity before granting access or making corrections. However, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your username and passwords and/or any other account information.

4. is related to internet use

Editgold records other information as well. Whenever a page is requested from our web server, we record the time, date and URL of the request, along with information on the browser software that is being used. This information is used to improve the structure and performance of editgold and is not used in any way to uniquely identify a user.

What else you should know about privacy and security

If you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or internet caf, remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence.

For obvious reasons, please do not send credit card information through unsecured electronic mail. In the event of unauthorised use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
